Deep heat therapyHeat that works from the inside out.
Targeted infrared therapy for recovery, circulation, and cellular detoxification.
Infrared heat is not the same as sitting in a hot room. Traditional saunas heat the air around you. Infrared penetrates the body directly: up to four centimetres into tissue, raising your core temperature without the oppressive heat of a conventional sauna. The result is a deeper physiological response at a temperature most people find genuinely comfortable.
Your muscles release tension you did not know you were holding. Circulation increases. Sweat carries metabolic waste, heavy metals, and environmental toxins through the skin rather than routing them entirely through your liver and kidneys. Your heart works harder in a way that mirrors moderate exercise. The effect on the body is real and measurable.
At Illume, each session is structured around a specific program — not a generic sit-and-sweat. Our team will recommend the program that best matches your goal.

-
Yes. Infrared is part of the sun's spectrum and has been used therapeutically for decades. It does not carry UV radiation. If you have a medical condition or are unsure whether it is appropriate for you, please speak with your GP before your first session.
-
Not necessarily. The body's response to infrared heat builds over time. A lack of sweat in the first session is entirely normal and does not mean the treatment is not working.
-
Yes. The sauna accommodates two people. A small additional charge applies.
-
Nothing. Towels, sarongs, and shower facilities are all provided. We recommend loose, comfortable clothing to change into after your session.
What to expect
The sauna is private. You can wear a bathing suit or use the sarong provided — most clients prefer the sarong. Fresh towels are supplied, and bathroom and shower facilities are available on site.
Sessions run between 30 and 45 minutes depending on your chosen program. The sauna has a screen: Netflix, YouTube, or simply the light therapy setting. There is no obligation to do anything except be still.
It is common not to sweat significantly in your first session. This is normal. The body adapts over subsequent sessions. Avoid applying oils or lotions before entering. Arrive well-hydrated and drink water after your session.
Programs
Detoxification — 37 minutes
Begins at high intensity to elevate core temperature, then reduces to mid-level. The mid and far infrared combination improves vascular access to reach toxins at a cellular level.
Relaxation — 40 minutes
A sustained low-intensity session that releases muscular tension and supports nervous system recovery. For clients carrying physical or mental stress.
Cardiovascular — 45 minutes
Begins at high intensity, then settles to sustain an elevated heart rate. The cardiovascular demand mirrors moderate aerobic exercise.
Weight management — 30 minutes
High intensity opening to activate the cardiovascular system, then reduces. As the body works to regulate temperature, metabolic rate increases in a way similar to physical exertion.
Muscle recovery and pain relief —
30 minutes Far and mid infrared reduces inflammation and swelling. Near infrared penetrates surface tissue to support cellular repair. Suited to clients with injury, post-exercise soreness, or chronic muscle pain.
Skin renewal — 30 minutes
Near infrared cycles on and off to stimulate collagen production, improve skin elasticity and firmness, and support overall tone. A natural complement to Illume's skin treatments.
Your plan
The sauna works best with consistency. A single session offers real benefit; a regular practice builds on it. If you are using the sauna alongside skin or body treatments, our therapists can advise on the best sequencing.
